Iona Group has provided construction project inspection, municipal project inspection, quality assurance and special inspection services in California since 1984 on schools, hospitals, commercial, public works, airports, military, water, wastewater systems and marine sector projects. We have attained extensive experience in heavy engineering and construction industries and a thorough familiarity with all aspects of construction project inspection. We have twenty four years of experience working on Capitol Improvement Programs utilizing design-bid-build, design build and CM multi-prime delivery methods.

LEED has been center stage for many years now as a method of attaining efficiency in energy, water and financial savings and as a reduction to operational and maintenance costs of buildings, however there are no inspection requirements by the US Green Building Council other than the system commissioning which occurs at the end of construction prior to occupancy. Commissioning agents have minimal site visits preceding their work other than construction project meetings and the occasional jobsite walk.

From the clients point of view obtaining a LEED certification does not necessarily mean the building in the long term will perform as stated on a LEED scorecard. However utilizing knowledgeable project inspectors who are attuned to and understand the requirements of LEED and its components will help make it a compliant successful project and contribute to the long term efficiency and lower O&M costs of the building project for the client. We have the knowledge and experience to deliver the projects to the fullest potential of the LEED certification.
